Our Retirement Journey April 30, 2023 Today we close the first chapter in our retirement journey.

Today we close the first chapter in our retirement journey. This chapter lasted some 25 months. This may sound confusing in that our retirement journey involves juggling many jobs during this time but somehow it still feels like retirement.

Yes, today we are saying goodbye to our time spent at Shady Grove Campground, in Georgia, Craig as the campground manager and owning a Mobile Dump Station as well has doing consulting work for Timberline Glamping Co.and me as the craft lady and chief Laundry officer for Timberline Glamping as well has a grandma for our grand daughters. We cannot thank our lovely daughter Rebeka who is also Co-CEO of Timberline Glamping Co enough for inviting us back here to kickoff our retirement life and spend some quality time with her Co-CEO husband Nathan along with our 2 beautiful grand daughters Sydney and Cameron.

God is truly amazing in that he gave us a little slice of Heaven in getting to live on this beautiful 107 acre lake front peninsula and waking up every morning to beautiful sun rises and sunsets over the 64 mile long lake Sydney Lanier in North Georgia.

We have met some amazing people at Shady Grove in this first chapter. Many have become good friends whether it is the awesome hosts, maintenance staff or some of the 30,000 plus campers and visitors that visit this park annually. We would never tire from hearing the words from campers telling us that this is the best campgrounds they’ve stayed in while traveling across the Country, as they camp from the west coast to the east coast.

Undoubtedly we will miss the Shady Grove campgrounds and our friends and family but are so thankful God allowed us to take the time to create a book of good memories and stories we can take into our next chapter on our retirement journey.

In this next chapter of our journey, God has us traveling in our motorhome around the country working for Timberline Glamping as their new regional supervisors for all of their franchise locations spread across several of the SE States and growing.

We are looking forward to and can’t wait to see more of this beautiful Country God has created and the people he will bring into our lives. For we have claimed the Bible verse below, knowing that God is directing our every step in our journey.
